Create a clear and distinctive business philosophy

When you talk about your micro business, don’t talk about the benefit, passion, fun or how your business will change their lives. Everyone describes their business that way and that is not the essence of your business (or any other for that matter), that is not what you are about, or what you are trying to do.

Don’t be boring and don’t try to play it safe. Very few people can handle brilliant ideas, that is why the difference is so big. Not everyone will decide to get their idea out, to risk failing or succeeding. But, everyone wants to believe something. In this case, it’s easier to believe what someone else is saying then to believe yourself. That is an advantage for you as a creator, as a micro business owner.

Start by understanding what you are doing for your clients (why is it meaningful, how does it help, etc.). Your distinctive philosophy is your idea that sets you apart (what you want to achieve) and the way you influence other people (what you do for them).

Go about explaining your micro business idea clearly, make it simple for everyone to understand, for the person who hears about it for the very first time. If you perplex it, if it takes a little longer to explain and for them to really think about it to get it, you’ve failed.

When you’re brainstorming ideas for your micro business, try not to pay much attention to people around you. What I mean by that is that you don’t comply to people who don’t get it. Don’t think you are wrong because others have opposite opinions and don’t quit because of those who push away from what is right.
